Review of ChaCha Natural Roasted Sunflower Seeds, Salted (Семечки натуральной обжарки подсолнуха соленые)

  Flavor: 5/5

This seed is truly something special. I was not expecting this unflavored seed to have the amount of natural flavor notes that it does. There are delicious notes of smoke, and the shell has a nice roasted flavor as well as earthy undertones. The salt itself on the shell has a wonderful sea salt flavor, and has a distinct taste from any salt I have ever had on a sunflower seed before. The kernel itself has a great classic sunflower taste, which really brings this seed together.

Salt: 5/5

The salt on this seed appears to have been applied by means of a saltwater brine, which I have not seen before. The salt flavor is perfectly balanced, not too overpowering, but still salty. The most shocking part of this seed is the fact that it has only 0.27mg of sodium per gram of seed! That is the least amount of sodium I have seen on any seed reviewed thus far.

Seed Quality: 5/5

These seeds are of superb quality. The shells do not splinter, and are actually rather soft, you could probably just chew them up and swallow them. So far I have not seen any broken shells in the bag or any stems. The average seed length is a whopping 1.06 inches (26mm).

Price: 3/5

The price of this bag of seeds was $2.99 for 130g of seeds. That comes out to $0.65 per ounce, or $2.30 per 100g. Although this is quite expensive, the quality and flavor of these seeds make up for it.
